Evening reception success in Chicago

By Ashfield Meetings & Events

Andrew Moore (Head of Compliance) described our exclusive evening reception that we hosted in Chicago last night as, “The ideal time and location to highlight our extensive healthcare congress research.”

The Science of Healthcare Congresses is our latest white paper, and details the experiences and preferences around medical congresses of more than 200 healthcare professionals (HCPs).

Last night’s evening reception – which took place in Chicago during one of the most prestigious and well-attended congresses for the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) – was the first time our expert team was on hand to discuss the white paper’s findings. Director of Client Services, Katie Koziol, said that it proved to be the perfect occasion.

“We were delighted that so many healthcare company guests joined us to hear about and discuss the Science of Healthcare Congresses last night,” said Katie. “As we’d all attended and experienced ASCO over the previous few days, it was invaluable to be able to truly bring the data to life and share anecdotal stories that correlated to our study’s findings.”

One of the key findings of the white paper indicated that 91% of physicians said that the exhibit hall was an important part of their congress experience, ranking it as the most effective element of a congress for networking.

“I’d say this was certainly in evidence at ASCO,” said our Head of Exhibits, Matt Foreman, who was part of last night’s expert panel. “It was also really interesting to see the HCPs gravitating towards specific booths that had prioritised interesting design with engagement technologies that focused on scientific content delivery. These were significant HCP preferences according to our data – along with providing access to Medical Science Liaisons – so it was fascinating to witness this successful booth formula first-hand during ASCO.”

Our team responded to several queries from healthcare company clients and contacts attending the reception, and Andrew sums up the success of the evening.

“Our aim with this event was to have a presence at the heart of one of the most prominent and highly-valued medical congresses, so we could share and examine some genuinely useful HCP insights. Our data kick-started some excellent conversations during the evening, which may well inspire congress strategies in the future to better-meet physicians’ wants and needs.”
